Terms of sale & service.

The agreement between us when you buy a piece: how an order becomes a contract, what you pay, what you can send back and what we owe you if something goes wrong.

About these terms

These terms govern the use of this website and every sale of clothing made through it by My Store. By placing an order you accept them, so please read them before you buy.

They do not limit your statutory rights as a consumer. Where a provision here conflicts with the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, that law prevails.

Who can order

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to enter into a binding contract. Our pieces are sold to private individuals for personal use; we may refuse or cancel orders that appear to be for resale, that are fraudulent, or that we cannot deliver to the address given.

The garments

Every piece is described with its composition, cut and care instructions. Our clothing is made from natural fibres in small runs, so slight variations in shade, weave and texture occur between pieces and between batches. These are characteristics of the cloth, not defects.

Photographs are taken to represent colour as faithfully as possible, but screens render white and ivory differently. A difference in on-screen shade alone is not a fault, although it is of course covered by your right to change your mind.

Stock is limited. If an item becomes unavailable after you order it, we will tell you and refund that item in full.

Prices and taxes

Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where it applies. Delivery is charged in addition unless your order qualifies for complimentary shipping; the exact amount is always shown before you pay.

For deliveries outside the United Kingdom, import duties, taxes and customs clearance fees may be charged by the destination country. These are set by that country and are payable by the recipient unless the checkout states that they are prepaid.

We may change prices at any time, but never after your order has been accepted. If an obvious pricing error is listed, we will contact you before dispatch and you may confirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

How your order becomes a contract

  1. You place the items in your basket and confirm your order at checkout.
  2. We send you an acknowledgement by email. This confirms that we have received your order; it is not yet acceptance.
  3. The contract is formed when we send you the dispatch confirmation for the items in question. Items not mentioned in that confirmation are not part of the contract.

Payment

Payment is taken at the time of order through our payment provider. Your card details are entered on the provider’s secure page and are never stored by us. If a payment is declined, reversed or disputed, we may suspend the order until it is resolved. All transactions may be subject to verification and anti-fraud checks.

Delivery, risk and ownership

Delivery methods, costs and estimated times are set out on our Shipping & Returns page and confirmed at checkout. Estimates are not guaranteed dates; where no time is agreed, we deliver within 30 days of the contract at the latest.

Risk in the goods passes to you when you, or someone you have nominated, takes physical possession of them. Ownership passes once we have received payment in full.

If delivery is substantially delayed through our fault, you may set a reasonable additional period and, if it passes, cancel the order and receive a full refund.

Changing your mind

As a consumer you may withdraw from a distance purchase within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason. We extend this to 30 days as a commercial gesture.

The full procedure, the condition items must be in, who pays return postage and how quickly we refund are set out in our Returns & Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Faulty goods and legal guarantees

Our garments must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If a piece is faulty or not as described, you are entitled to a repair, a replacement or a refund under the law that applies to you — the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in the United Kingdom, and the legal guarantee of conformity (minimum two years) in the European Union.

These remedies are free of charge and are in addition to the right to change your mind above. Normal wear, damage caused by misuse or by not following the care instructions, and the natural ageing of linen, cotton, silk and wool are not faults.

Accounts and acceptable use

If you create an account, keep your password confidential and tell us promptly of any unauthorised use. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

You may not misuse the site: no scraping or bulk automated access, no attempt to breach its security, no uploading of unlawful or harmful content, and no use of our name, photographs or texts without our written permission. All content on this site — images, copy, designs and marks — remains our property or that of our licensors.

Our liability

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law.

We are not liable for business losses, nor for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control such as strikes, carrier failure, extreme weather or a failure of public networks. Where such an event occurs we will tell you and, if it lasts, you may cancel and be refunded for goods not received.

Complaints, disputes and governing law

If something is wrong, contact us through our contact page first — most matters are settled within a few days. Consumers in the European Union may also use an approved alternative dispute resolution body in their country.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country and may bring proceedings there.

We may update these terms; the version in force is the one published when you place your order.
